Who we are
Family Equity Protection helps homeowners compare mortgage protection coverage from multiple carriers. Licensed agents review your options with you and answer your questions. We are not an insurer, a lender, or a government program, and we do not issue policies.
Family Equity Protection is a trade name of Sakred Business Solutions LLC.
We operate familyequityprotection.com and the advertising that brings people to it. When you submit our questionnaire, we introduce you to a licensed insurance agent who is appointed with multiple carriers and licensed in the state you live in. That introduction is our whole service.
Not a lender, not an insurer, and not advice
We are not your lender or loan servicer, we have no access to your mortgage, and nothing you do here changes your loan. We are not an insurance company: we do not underwrite, quote, or bind coverage, and no policy is issued by us. Nothing on this site is financial, legal, or tax advice, and nothing on it is a recommendation for your particular situation. Any recommendation you receive comes from the licensed agent you speak with, in that conversation, based on your full circumstances.
How we are compensated
You never pay us. If you decide to apply and a carrier issues the policy, the carrier pays the agent or their agency a commission out of the policy's pricing. It isn't an extra line on your bill; the premium is the carrier's rate either way.
That means we only do well when a homeowner ends up with coverage they keep. Selling the wrong policy, or a bigger one than a family needs, costs us the relationship, so the advice is built to hold up years later, not just on the call.
Licensing and availability
Insurance is regulated state by state. Every agent we connect you with holds the license required to discuss and sell insurance in the state you told us you live in, and your request is routed only to someone licensed there. We do not route requests to unlicensed people, and we do not route requests where we cannot determine the state.
Products described on this site are not available in all states, and availability, features, and pricing vary by state and by carrier. Descriptions on this site are general; the policy issued by the carrier governs.
About the coverage discussed
Mortgage protection coverage is life insurance issued by a licensed carrier and sized to your mortgage. The benefit is paid to the beneficiary you name, not to your lender, and they decide how to use it. It is not private mortgage insurance (PMI), which protects the lender, and it is not the credit life or mortgage life insurance some lenders sell, where the lender is the beneficiary. No lender requires it, and buying it has no effect on your loan.
Policies may be level (the benefit stays the same) or decreasing (the benefit falls with the balance). Premiums depend on age, health, the amount, and the term, and are set by the carrier. Many policies use a health questionnaire rather than an exam; some carry a graded benefit in the first years. All coverage is subject to underwriting and carrier approval.
About the figure on our site
The coverage target shown at the end of the questionnaire is either your monthly payment multiplied by the number of months you chose, or the balance you entered. It is an arithmetic starting point for a conversation, not a needs analysis, a quote, an offer, or a statement of eligibility. A licensed agent adjusts it for income, existing coverage, and who would keep the house.
Who receives your request
Your request goes to a licensed insurance agency we work with and its appointed agents; to an insurance carrier if you choose to apply; and to the service providers that host this site, deliver messages, and measure advertising. Your mortgage lender and loan servicer do not receive your request. A current list of the agencies we route requests to is available on request at privacy@familyequityprotection.com. We do not sell your information to unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
Advertising
We advertise on social platforms and search engines. Our advertisements identify Family Equity Protection as the advertiser. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government agency, lender, loan servicer, or insurance carrier, and no advertisement of ours should be read as suggesting otherwise.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how you were contacted, or believe you were contacted without consent, email privacy@familyequityprotection.com with the number that contacted you and the date. We keep the consent record for every submission and will investigate and respond. You may also contact your state’s Department of Insurance; the National Association of Insurance Commissioners keeps a directory at content.naic.org/state-insurance-departments.
